A couple months ago, in therapy, I was asked, "What does creativity mean to you?" Apparently, the first thing that came to mind was, "Creativity is what you give back to the universe and yourself to make your world a better place." Fast forward several months later, my therapist surprised me with a lovely painting and my quote on it. I still agree with what I said (even if I have zero recollection of saying it lmfao) but the one thing I would change is the last part. Creativity is what you give back to the universe and yourself to make THE world a better place. Not just yours. Whether or not you believe in the full moon and its powers, I hope everyone takes this time to put their energy not only into themselves, but back into this thing we call life. It sucks the majority of the time. Yet, you cannot deny the beauty in the chaos. Somehow, we are here, at this time, revolving around the sun, which is orbiting around a black hole. Gravity and electricity. We are not alone. There are things greater than us. We can explain things with math, and science, and we have the tools to make it all sound beautiful- just as the Greeks connected life and science to relatable concepts, wrapping it all up in romantic words so humans can try and make sense of life. There are things we cannot explain. Not yet at least. We are all connected whether we like it or not. The most crucial thing I think we can do in this life is try to live with integrity. Radically accept things, and have regard for one another. Easier said than done of course, but the point is, to just try. Everyone messes up. We all have bad days. Life is completely unfair. Every person goes through something that shapes them. Some of those things are horrendous, tragic, and unjust. As heady as my words are, we must remember we're quite literally GAS AND DUST. Don't take shit too seriously. Live fully and laugh at yourself so your spit and oxygen go back out into the atmosphere! All of this either means something, or it doesn't.
